A new tradition of seed confections.
A pairing course of SHUKA's seed confections and plant-based gelato with selected teas, from the fourth generation of an amanatto shop founded in Mibu, Kyoto, in 1926. Served by reservation only at the 2F Cafe of our Kyoto flagship.
Course Structure
[Part 1] Six seed confections, each paired with a tea.
[Part 2] Six plant-based gelato flavors made from the same six seeds, including "Cacao Asiatico," awarded in the Health Category at SIGEP 2026, Italy. Served with our black soybean tea made from Kurosengoku, a rare heirloom variety.
The second half is also offered on its own at our 2F Cafe as the Six Seeds Gelato Course (with one drink), ¥2,500 incl. tax, no reservation needed.

Vessels Crafted for SHUKA
The vessels for this course were made with two Kyoto craft houses: TOKINOHA (Kiyomizu-yaki, Yamashina) made the plates for the seed confections, and COCOO (urushi lacquerware, Nishijin) made the gelato cups and spoons.

The Space
Our flagship is built around one idea: savor the seed. The walls, floor and ceiling are all earthen plaster (Kyoto soil, water and rice straw), with light coming in through a skylight — the view a seed sees as it sprouts toward the sky.
Allergen Information
This course contains pistachio and cashew (tree nuts) and soybean. All gelato is plant-based and contains no dairy or eggs. Our kitchen also handles nuts and other allergens, so trace cross-contamination is possible. If you have any allergies, please let us know when booking or before your visit.
